JOIN USIt took Vishnu Prasad as many as 23 surgeries to recover from 80 per cent burns. The man on whom doctors had once given up hope recovered at Meenakshi Hospitals in the City and is doing fine now.
Addressing a press conference in the City on Monday, doctors treating him said that it took 30-year-old Prasad eight days to come out of the ventilator before he could recover completely. It was in the month of December 2014 that the man from Odisha met with an accident at his work place.
On the fateful day, when Prasad was working on one of the turbines at a wind mill station in Andhra Pradesh, he was hit by an arch flash. He also fell from a height of about 20 feet after which he was rendered unconscious. On being rushed to a nearby hospital at Ananthpur district, doctors told the family that his survival chances would be minimal. However, it was when he was brought to Bengaluru that there was a hope for life.
“I was on medical leave for six months and am planning to return to work. Since the temperatures are extreme there, I have been advised to wait for a while,” said Prasad.
