Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should display a photograph of BJP National Vice President B S Yeddyurappa at his house, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, K S Eshwarappa has said.

“Congress has come to power in the State only on account of the follies committed by us (BJP). Hence, the chief minister should display a photograph of B S Yeddyurappa at his house as a mark of gratitude,” Eshwarappa told reporters here on Tuesday.

Accusing the State government of acting at its whims and fancies, Eshwarappa claimed that there were irregularities in implementation of Anna Bhagya scheme and sand transportation.
The former deputy chief minister said that the government was out to divide society on the pretext of conducting a caste census. A total of 913 castes were identified in the State by various commissions. However, this time, the census document enlists as many as 1,504 castes.

“Moreover, new castes such as Brahmin-Christian, Lingayat-Christian, Kuruba-Christian have been enlisted, thus motivating people for religious conversion. Siddaramaiah has attempted to appease All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi,” Eshwarappa said. He charged the Congress government of not earmarking enough funds for the welfare of the backward classes.
