Rahul will be back soon, says Sonia

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said her son and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who has been on a mysterious sabbatical, would be back soon to visit his Lok Sabha constituency of Amethi.

“Rahul will be back soon....he will visit,” Sonia said in an informal chat with newsmen in Amethi.

She said that she was in Amethi on Rahul’s behalf. Posters titled “Amethi MP missing” had appeared in the constituency after Rahul’s sabbatical. A section of the electorate had expressed anguish at the Congress vice-president suddenly leaving at a time when the Lok Sabha was debating several crucial bills.

Sonia on Saturday visited Amethi along with her Lok Sabha constituency of Raebareli. She also met the victims of the Bahcarwan train mishap and their families.
