Advocates stage demonstration

Hundreds of advocates staged a demonstration in front of the High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday morning, seeking a CBI probe to into the death of IAS officer D K Ravi.

The advocates mourned the young bureaucrat’s death by observing a two-minute silence. They raised slogans against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and sought a fair trial.

BJP workers protest
Meanwhile, BJP workers also staged a protest near the Mysore Bank Circle seeking a CBI probe. Addressing the protesters, senior BJP leader R Ashoka said statewide protests would be held, if the government failed to hand over the case to the CBI.

The students of Bangalore University held a condolence meeting at the Jnanabharathi campus and demanded that the government hand over the case to the CBI.

Members of the Samata Sainik Dal, Karnataka Madiga Dandora, Shudra Sena and Nyayakkagi Naavu staged a demonstration at the Freedom Park pressing for a CBI investigation.

The Lokasatta party members staged a protest condemning the transfer of the Inspector General of Police (CID) Pranab Mohanty to the Lokayukta.
The officer was supervising the investigation into Ravi’s case which was entrusted to the CID on Tuesday.
