Floating restaurant planned at Ulsoor Lake

The tourism department will create a floating restaurant at Ulsoor Lake in Bengaluru as proposed in the budget. This will be the first of its kind in the State.

The mini floating restaurant, will have around 15-20 chairs, where evening snacks will be served. It will be along the lines of the cruises in Goa and the Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad, a tourism department official told Deccan Herald.

People will be seated in the floating restaurant cruise, which will take 2-3 rounds of the lake and drop the guests back.

A detailed project report in this regard will be prepared soon. The budget estimate for the said project is yet to be prepared. It will be developed by the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), which is presently running the boating and restaurant facility at Ulsoor Lake.

A total of Rs 406 crore has been allocated to the Tourism department.

Other proposals
Other proposals include introducing cable cars in Nandi Hills, Chamundi Hills, Madhugiri Monolith and Kemmannugundi Hill Resort; a scheme for providing air charter services to domestic and foreign tourists to take off.

A comprehensive development plan to be prepared for Belur, Pattadakal, Hampi and Mysuru.
