Uproar in R'than Assembly over swine flu cases

The Congress walked out of the Rajasthan Assembly accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government of miserably failing to dealing with swine flu outbreak which has claimed 245 lives since January 1.


The Opposition also demanded the Health Minister Rajendra Rathore resignation on moral grounds.
The Congress leaders and other Opposition parties created ruckus in the House and claimed that at least 1,000 deaths have taken place in Rajasthan due to HIN1 virus.

They alleged that the state government deliberately hid the actual death figures to cover up its failure to tackle the epidemic.

Earlier, all the Opposition legislators entered the House wearing swine flu masks.
The Opposition Congress and other legislators raised slogans during Zero Hour and did not let the Health Minister to reply to the allegations levelled by them.

Legislators like Kirori Lal Meena, Shravan Kumar
and Govind Dotasara alleged that the Health Minister misguided the people as the government didn’t have sufficient stock of Tamiflu tablets till two weeks ago when people were dying.

They also attacked Rathore for giving ‘unethical’ and ‘baseless’ statements over swine flu which reflected that he was helpless to tackle the crises.


Later, the Health Minister rejected all the allegations saying that that swine flu death rate was much less in Rajasthan as compared to states like Punjab, Odisha and Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, Industry Minister Gajendra Singh Kheenvsar informed the House that Rajasthan Special Investment Region Bill, 2015 is ready for the cabinet approval and would soon be tabled in state Assembly.

Singh was replying to a question in which he mentioned that the Bill , 2015 will also focus on the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) which would benefit the entire state in terms of investment and promotion of business.


The minister informed that around 600 kms of DMIC will pass through Rajasthan.
