It turned out be an easy outing for Indian Davis Cupper Saketh Myneni who dispatched Egypt’s Mohamed Safwat 6-2, 6-3 to storm into the men’s singles quarterfinal of $100,000 ATP challenger of Delhi Open at the DLTA complex on Wednesday.

Safwat who beat third-seeded Yuichi Sugita of Japan in the opening round, lasted for mere 47 minutes against  Saketh.
Serving big, Saketh traded early breaks with the Egyptian before effecting a decisive one in the eighth game to run away with the opening set in 22 minutes. In the second set, Saketh was quick to grab a 4-1 lead before serving out the match.

In other matches, Ruben Bemelmand of Belarus defeated Pedja Krstin of Serbia 7-6 (4), 6-3 while Australian Luke Saville defeated Enrique Lopez-Perez 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

In the women's USD 25,000 ITF event, Indian participation got over after Dhruthi Venugopal going down to Tadeja Majeric 2-6, 4-6.
