A woman suffered injuries in an accident involving actor Pooja Gandhi’s car in Jayanagar on Thursday afternoon.

Varsha, 50, a resident of Banashankari, was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where she is being treated at the intensive care unit. The jurisdictional police said she was out of danger.

The police have decided to slap a notice on Pooja, as she has been untraceable after shifting the victim to the hospital. Efforts to reach her on her mobile phone, too, failed, said the police.

The car Pooja was travelling by rammed Varsha’s two-wheeler around 1 pm in Yediyur lake area, causing her injuries. Pooja shifted her to a nearby hospital in her car, along with a few local residents, said the police.

A case was registered following a complaint lodged by Varsha’s brother Deepak. “She (Pooja) went away after the accident. We could not trace her car. Moreover, her mobile phone is not reachable. Hence, we have decided to serve a notice on her,” said a police officer.

There were two versions about the person who was at the wheel when the accident occurred. Some claimed Pooja was herself driving the car, while a few others said a man was at the wheel. It is said there were three persons in the car. There were no CCTV cameras at the accident spot. Police are on the lookout for Pooja.
