When you are done with roses, chocolates and dinner, and you want to express more than you could ever say, offer your significant other a movie marathon and maybe the message will get across sooner than you think!

When one thinks of romantic movies, Roman Holiday still remains an all-time favourite amongst romantic Hollywood movies, as also Bollywood’s Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.

Indeed, some movies always remain on the list of favourites. The night is short and there would be much to say and do. Metrolife has collated a list of cheesy, corny, quirky, grim and dark love stories to make your reel marathon worthwhile.

* Pretty Woman (1990): “You and I are such similar creatures, we both screw people for money”, Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts) said this to Edward Lewis (Richard Gere).

Edward being The sophisticated high profile corporate, Edward never in his wildest of dreams would have imagined he would have to clamber up the fire escape, his fear of heights notwithstanding, with a bouquet of roses clutched between his teeth, to woo a hooker, even if it is the lovely Julia Roberts!

* Sleepless in Seattle(1993): A light romantic comedy inspired by the 1957 film An Affair to Remember. Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks), a widower and single father Sam discloses his story of lost love on a radio program.
