KLE Society kicks off centenary celebrations

 Centenary celebrations of Karnataka Lingayat Education (KLE) Society got off to a grand start here on Thursday.

The celebrations would continue until November 2016 with various programmes like seminars, debates and others being organised by the premier education society that has also made its mark in the health service sector.

Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble led the centenary rally that commenced at Fort premises where the KLE Society was born. Two other rallies, one from KLE University and another from Davar Guesthouse culminated on Lingaraj College ground.

Kumble received the centenary torch from the students and lit the centenary torch that would remain burning until November 2016 when the centenary programmes would conclude.

Kumble lauded the KLE Society for its contribution to education, healthcare services and in generating employment opportunities in the North Karnataka region. 

KLE Society Chairman and Rajya Sabha Member Prabhakar Kore announced setting up of sports academy to provide specialised training to students in their chosen disciplines.
He also appealed to the students and alumni to become ambassadors of KLE Society.
