Power generation affected: Minister

Energy Minister D K Shivakumar has said that the power generation in the State had been affected due to lack of coal and the State was trying to utilise hydel power and renewable energy to its full capacity.

In a written reply to Ganesh Karnik (BJP) in the Legislative Council, the minister said that the thermal power stations had not been generating to their installed capacity due to scarcity of coal.
