UK’s rising rock band, These Reigning Days, made their maiden three city tour to India recently with LIVE Viacom18’s EMERGE. After enthralling the crowd at Mumbai and Bangalore, the band completed the tour with a stunning performance at the Summer House Cafe, Hauz Khas recently.

In the last few months, this incredible live band has supported Bon Jovi in the San Siro stadium in Milan, played the main stage at The Polish Woodstock in front of several hundred thousand music lovers and attracted global interest from fans and the music industry. The band’s music is often described as anthemic, epic stadium rock. It fuses layers of strong but understated guitar lines with a twisting, Indie-pop synth sound that quietly drives the compositions. Drawing on a great range of influences their songs, penned by Dan Steer, are memorable, danceable and instantly accessible whilst still retaining much depth for those who want to glean more. Steer’s stunning unique, powerful vocals and soaring guitar are underpinned with a pulsing rhythm section from drum phenomenon Joe Sansome and bassist Jonny Finnis.

When asked by Metrolife where the name came from, lead singer and songwriter Dan Steer said, “All of us had already spent time in other bands and, to be fair, played with some great musicians, but until we got together we hadn’t met the true kindred spirits who shared a musical, aspirational vision. We all knew of each other’s existence on the local music scene and we’d eyed each other up from afar, a bit like that girl you fancy but never dare approach! Anyway, at the end of the first song at our first rehearsal, we all put our instruments down, looked at each other and just knew. I said, ‘These are our reigning days!’ Of course people said things like ‘No one will be able to spell it (and yeah, they do still get it wrong…) but we stuck to our guns and so far it feels like we’re definitely on the
right track”.

“We are super excited about performing in India,” says Steer adding  “everything is absolutely fantastic, and people are so friendly here. Our band has brand new material just for India, which are never heard before”, he says.

The band’s singles are being play-listed on radio stations across the world and since being invited to showcase at the prestigious Musexpo in Los Angeles, they have attracted international music industry’s attention.

Steer says, “Our music is different because we don’t stick to one particular genre of music. We have different influences and styles affecting our work.”

The opening act for “These Reigning Days” was performed by the Mad Orange Fireworks. Popular funk, rock, punk, fun to rock call their music as “Orange Rock”. The band features Michael Dias on vocals and guitars, Ramanan Chandramouli on guitars and vocals, Kaushik Kumar on bass and vocals and Deepak Raghu on drums and vocals. The ensemble draws its inspiration from legendary bands like Thermal and a Quarter, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer and The Beatles.
