Teacher hits student for talking during exam

An SSLC student was seriously injured after he was allegedly hit by a teacher for speaking with his classmate while appearing for an examination.

The victim Vivek was writing his Hindi preparatory examination at the Government High School in Oorgaumpet on Tuesday.

When Vivek turned back to speak with his classmate, Jayaram, the invigilator, repeatedly hit the boy with the writing board, causing head injury.

Vivek was rushed to a government hospital in Vivek Nagar. A case has been registered at the Robertsonpet police station. Jayaram is said to be absconding.

Block Education Officer Venkataramareddy has submitted a report to the Deputy Director of Public Instruction.
