'BJP lost in State because of corruption'

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said here on Sunday that the Congress does not need to learn from BJP President Amit Shah.

“There is a criminal case pending against him and he is free today because of the CBI’s mercy.”

He was speaking after inaugurating the 12th edition of Chitra Santhe at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat in the City. He also alleged that Shah did not know the right way of speaking. “The BJP lost power in the State as the people of Karnataka knew how corrupt they were. Their ministers were even put behind the bars.

Even now a few of them continue to be in jail,” he added. Stating that it was about one-and-a-half years since his government took charge, Siddaramiah added, “We have introduced various schemes to benefit the people of this State. So far, there has been no scam reported.”

Speaker Kagodu Thimappa who visited the Santhe clarified that he held nothing personal against the government but only expressed displeasure about the way the government was functioning. “At present,  renovation work is happening at the Vidhana Soudha. Hence I have directed the concerned to finish the work at the earliest and conduct the session in February,” he added.
