Jet offers more frills on premier class

With competition hotting up with the entry of Vistara, Jet Airways on Tuesday offered its premier and first class fliers an enhanced in-flight experience with cinematic renditions of stories from Indian theatre and an advanced meal-booking programme.

Jet’s announcement came a day after its rival Vistara, which is hitting the skies on January 9, unveiled its products that included premium economy seats, a value-based frequent flier programme, in-flight meal service and seamless check-in services. Vistara will be now flying domestic only due to restrictions on new airlines.

The Naresh Goyal-led airlines has introduced a new online meal-booking programme for the first class and premiere guests. The ‘Book your meal’ initiative is now available on all Jet Airways’ international flights, allowing guests to pre-order meals online at jetairways.com. It is a key feature in the airline’s growing commitment to enhance the in-flight guest experience. The ‘Book Your Meal’ initiative allows guests to book meals 48 hours to 60 days ahead of departure, a statement said.

In addition, the statement said Jet Airways is boosting the in-flight entertainment experience for guests in all cabins and on all flights through the launch of a series of theatre shows by ‘CinePlay’. Founded by Subodh Maskara, and creatively mentored by Nandita Das, CinePlay shows are cinematic renditions of vast and content-rich stories from Indian theatre.
