'PK', the much-awaited Aamir Khan starrer, is all set to hit the silver screens today, on Dec 19. However, reports are pouring in that the movie is an expensive affair and a common man can't afford to watch it in theaters.

During the promotions of the movie, Aamir had assured that the ticket price will not be hiked for 'PK'.

Contrary to what the star had iterated in the past, the ticket price has been apparently hiked.

According to Manoj Desai, managing director of G-7 cinema chain, the distributors asked him to double the price of tickets for 'PK'.

Apparently, now the tickets will be costing Rs. 150 instead of Rs. 80 and Rs. 200 instead of Rs. 100 across the single screen theaters of Mumbai, which includes the Maratha Mandir and mini-multiplex Gaiety Galaxy in Bandra.

Unhappy Manoj stated, “Even Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan do not indulge in this kind of arm-twisting."

Manoj told that the audience visiting his theater mainly comprises of middle class and lower middle class people, who cannot afford to watch an expensive movie.

To protest against the price hike, the managing director of G-7 cinema chain has banned Aamir's 'PK' in his theaters.

He has decided to run Rajinikanth's 'Lingaa' instead of Aamir's 'PK' in his theaters.

On the other hand, a source associated with the film said that 'PK' will not be screened in Manoj Desai's theater because of the malpractices carried out there.

Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, 'PK' stars Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Sushant Singh Rajput and Boman Irani.

The movie has been produced by Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Siddharth Roy Kapur.

Shantanu Moitra, Ajay-Atul and Ankit Tiwari have composed the music for 'PK'.

Comedy drama 'PK' is releasing in 4,000 screens across India, today. It is the 200th film releasing this year.
