A police inspector was shot dead allegedly by a criminal in UP’s Farrukhabad town on Saturday.
Police sources said Raj Kumar Singh, in-charge of Kotwali police station, was fired at by criminal Kallu Kori when the cop was raiding his hideout.
Singh was hit on the chest by Kori and rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead. Kori had been released from jail only three days back. One person has been arrested connection with the killing, sources added.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced an ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh for Singh’s kin.
