Pavan pockets two golds

Pavan Bhat of Delhi Public School (East), St Yash Public School’s Ashwini B M and Shimran K S of Bethany High School clinched fine doubles in the second leg of the Deccan Athletic Club’s 26th Weekend Athletic Meet, sponsored by Deccan Herald and Prajavani, here at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Sunday.

 Pavan topped in the boys’ under-16 long jump (5.84M) and high jump (1.76M) while Ashwini emerged winner in the girls under-12 800 metres (2:54.4) and 1500 metres (5:59.8).

Shimran took home the girls under-15 800M gold in a time of 2:42.5 seconds and also won the 1500 metres clocking 5:47.06.

In the girls’ under-15 section, Meghana P of Mary Immaculate School bagged the top honour in the 100 metres (13.3) and Nikitha MV claimed the high jump gold with an effort of 1.43 metres.
