Eastern to set up plant in Karnataka

 Spices exporter and condiments maker Eastern Condiments will set up its ninth plant in India in Karnataka. 

Firoz Meeran, MD, Eastern Condiments, while inaugurating Eastern’s new regional headquarters in Bengaluru on Wednesday, said that the Karnataka plant will be the latest in the company’s list which includes facilities in Rasayani, Maharashtra, Ghaziabad, UP, Theni of Tamil Nadu and Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.

Eastern has three facilities in Kerala and one in the Middle East and clocked 36 per cent growth in the six months of the fiscal ended September 30 in markets outside Kerala after posting growth of 33 per cent last fiscal, Meeran said.

Meeran further said that Eastern currently holds over 50 per cent market share in processed spices in the Middle East.
