A BMW car first rammed into a Renault Duster before breaking through the boundary walls of a colony in south Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar during the wee hours on Sunday.

The three persons, including a woman, occupying the two cars involved in the accident escaped with minor injuries and were discharged from hospital after first aid.

Police said none of the two drivers were found with alcohol in their blood. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at Sarojini Nagar police station.

Police said the Duster was being driven by one Aadil Amin, a final year MBBS student at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College of Safdarjung Hospital. He lives in the college hostel.

At the time of the accident, he was driving from towards Leela hotel in Chanakyapuri from Safdarjung.

An allegedly speeding BMW was arriving from the opposite direction at a traffic signal near Sarojini Nagar’s Railway Colony.

The BMW was allegedly being driven by one Aryan, 25, who lost control over the vehicle and rammed into Amin’s Duster, leaving the vehicle badly damaged.

The BMW then broke into a colony’s boundary wall and entered into someone’s lawns.

A woman in her mid-20s was accompanying Aryan in the BMW car. While Aryan and his female companion were taken to AIIMS trauma centre for treatment, Amin went to Safdarjung Hospital. They were soon discharged.

Police had been informed about the accident by locals at Sarojini Nagar.
They are investigating the case and suspect speeding by either or both of the vehicles caused the accident.
