After IT major Infosys announced that it will pull out of the Devanahalli IT park citing lack of infrastructure, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday set a three month deadline for civic agencies to provide road connectivity and water supply to the park.

Speaking to the media after chairing a meeting with IT & BT Minister S R Patil and top officials, Siddaramaiah said the Energy Department has been directed to ensure supply of 200 MW of power to the park in one year.

“I agree that there has been a delay in providing basic amenities at Devanahalli IT park. The government has taken all measures to provide necessary infrastructure and will continue to extend cooperation to the IT companies,” the chief minister said.

“The government has sorted out all issues. We have requested them (Infosys) to remain in Devanahalli IT park and have assured all cooperation,” he added. Infosys has been allotted 40 acres of land at the park but is yet to set up shop in the absence of necessary infrastructure.

Despite repeated requests to upgrade the road passing via Bagalur to the Kempegowda International Airport or build a parallel road through Nagawara, nothing has been done so far. The government had also assured of providing treated water from Chellaghatta and Hebbal valleys. But the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has not made much progress in this regard, forcing the pull out. The BWSSB has been asked to take immediate steps to lay pipelines to supply treated water.
