Red-faced over reports that Infosys had shelved its investment plans at Devanahalli Information Technology Park, the State government, in an effort to ensure that the IT bellwether did not consider moving its intended investment to neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, whose Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was in the City to woo industrialists into the newly formed state, has scheduled a meeting with the Infy top brass for Thursday (November 6).

Dismissing any such possibility, Information Technology and Biotechnology Minister S R Patil on Tuesday conceded that Infosys had sought widening of the existing road to a four-lane stretch, connecting BIAL directly with Devanahalli IT park.

“We will try to fulfill the demand,” he said, adding Infosys had sought an additional 60 acres for the proposed project at Devanahalli IT Park. The government has reserved the land but is yet to hand it over.

A meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been scheduled to address these concerns.

“The high-level committee meeting is scheduled for November 6, wherein we will meet Infosys representatives and resolve this issue,” he added.

“As much as Infosys has done to generate employment in our State, the government has been supportive and done even more for the development of the company,” Patil quipped.

The land deal with Infosys was struck during BJP regime in GIM 2010.

“It has now come to our notice, and we will resolve it,” he said.

Infosys had planned to build a development centre on 100 acres at Devanahalli IT Park, with a 20,000-employee capacity.
