Meru Cabs launches taxi service at Rs 10 per km

Call taxi services in the City is getting intensely competitive. Meru Cabs on Thursday launched MeruGenie, a local city cab service at Rs 10 per kilometre.

The service will offer customers point-to-point service, the flexibility to retain the cab for a full-day multi-stop Intercity or Intra-city journey, and pay only for the period of use.

MeruGenie will be also available through the Meru Cabs Mobile App, which was recently introduced by Meru Cabs. This facility will offer commuters features such as one-touch booking, tracking your cab, confirmed booking up to seven days in advance and a unique Cab-Wallet, arguably the country’s first such feature.

The Cab-Wallet feature in the Meru Cabs app can be used for payment of the trip. Customers register and load money into the app via credit card, debit card or through Net banking.

This amount can be used at the click of a button from the app to make payments for their journey.

Commuters could download the Meru Cab App and book a MeruGenie through the app. Also, customers using Android phones can avail five per cent cash-back on every trip paid with the Cab-Wallet.

MeruGenie from Meru Cabs will also have a dedicated 24x7 call centre 4422 4422, website www.genie.merucabs.com and Meru Cabs App (Version 3.0). MeruGenie will also offer credit card payment facility via Meru Cabs App, automated e-bill at the end of the trip, and a unique ‘Trip Tracker’ and ‘ICE’ (In Case of Emergency) feature to ensure safety for women.
