MD appointed to new mining restoration company

The State government has appointed Rajinder Kumar Kataria as managing director (MD) to the newly formed Karnataka Mining Environment Restoration Company Limited (KM­ER­C). 

KMERC was set up in June by the State government as suggested by the Central Empowered Committee.  Kataria, who was the managing director for the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, will be the first managing director of Mining Environment Restoration Company Limited. The Company will implement the Comprehensive Environment Plan for Mining Impact Zone (CEPMIZ) in the mining-ravaged districts of Tumkur, Chitradurga and Bellary. 

Dr R Vishal has been appointed as the commissioner of Food and Civil Supplies department. The incumbent Harsh Gupta has been transferred, with posting awaited. Gaurav Gupta has been appointed Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director of Commerce and Industries.

 M Maheshwar Rao has been transferred as the Managing Director for Karnataka Power Corporation Limited. Ritesh Kumar Singh has been transferred as the Regional Commissioner for Bangalore region. Dr M V Venkatesh has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner for Chikkaballapur district.
