JOIN USFarmers will no longer have to go to an expert physically to get information on crops or fertilisers or diseases and pests affecting their crops. Everything is now available at the tip of their fingers.
All they have to do is have a smart phone and download the application ‘AgriApp’ launched here on Friday. The app, which can be downloaded from Google play store, provides information which can be shared as well. The AgriApp will provide farmers information on best practices followed for optimum yield.
The app also allows for direct chats with experts in which they can send photos, videos, call and even requests for assistance with specific crop issues. “Farmers can also call our experts directly or view videos containing tips and news. The content in the app is available in English, Hindi and Kannada, making it convenient for a large section of society to use,” said Dr Basavaraj Girennavar of Criyagen, the company which has developed the app. Farmers can also order their need-based products from the company.
