Vultures set up final clash with Swastic

Vultures Cricket Club and Swastic Union Cricket Club scored contrasting wins to set up title clash in the KSCA Group I Division I, II and III (under-19) inter-club tournament.

Vultures survived by the skin of their teeth as they eked out a narrow six-run win after bowling out Jawahar Sports Club (1) who mounted a spirited chase on the back of centurion Jayesh Babu.

Batting first, Vultures posted 232 all out in 41 overs with Parikshith (83) and Syed Sufiyan (95) being among runs. Shimon Luiz (3/57) and Gurudutt (4/20) shared the bowling spoils.Jayesh led Jawahars’ charge with a calculated 108 (135b, 6x4, 1x6) but he didn’t receive enough back up as they crashed to 226 all out in 49.4 overs.

In the other semifinal, SUCC (1), having managed 276 for nine thanks a century from Milinf Ramesh (102), bowled out Jayanagar United Cricket Club for a sorry 79 in 26.3 overs. Prithvi Gaira (3/10) and Priyankar (3/10) caused the maximum damage.
