Sriramulu owns up defeat

Former minister B Sriramulu has owned up the responsibility for the BJP’s ‘unexpected’ defeat in the byelection to the Bellary Rural seat.

Addressing a press conference, the MP said that the Congress managed to win the seat as that party had lured the voters through a number of inducements.

 He said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his ministers had announced a number of projects, which also helped the party emerge victorious.

The ruling Congress misused power and had spent a lot of money in winning the election, he said.

Sriramulu said that he would not be deterred by the massive defeat and that he would work to strengthen the party for the 2018 Assembly elections so that it emerges victorious.
