JOIN USA 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped twice by a man living in the same building at east Delhi’s Madhu Vihar on Saturday.
The accused was arrested soon after the victim’s parents reported the matter to police.
The victim lives with her parents, both of who work odd jobs, in Chandra Vihar of the area. The same building was occupied by 24-year-old Roshan Ali, his wife and children. His wife works as a maid in the area.
The girl’s parents as well as Ali’s wife were away for work on Saturday when he allegedly sneaked into the victim’s house on some pretext and raped her.
He returned some time later to commit the same crime again, the victim later told police.
The girl was threatened not to reveal the matter to anyone. However, she narrated the entire incident to her parents on Sunday morning when her they insisted her to share what had been keeping her silent and scared.
Police were approached and the girl was sent for a medical examination. After medical reports confirmed rape, Ali was arrested from his house.
Ali, who works as a tailor, was charged with rape under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
8-year-old molested
In a separate incident, an eight-year-old girl was sexually abused by her neighbour at central Delhi’s Turkman Gate on Saturday evening.
The 58-year-old unemployed man lured the girl to his house on the pretext of playing with her and instead molested her.
The girl told her parents about the incident after which a complaint was filed with police.
The accused Zulfikar, who was the victim’s neighbour for the last 16 years, was arrested from his residence.
