Udupi RTA revises bus fare

Revised fare will come into effect from August 16

The express, shuttle  and city bus fares are revised in the district and the revised fare will be introduced from August 16.

The press release issued by the Regional Transport Office stated that measure to increase the price was taken following the decision by Dakshina Kannada RTA, as both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi are neighboring districts.

The hike in the bus fare for the express and shuttle buses is as follows.


For  0–6.5 kms distance, the current minimum fare is Rs 08.00 while the earlier price was Rs 7.  For 6.6 – 13.0 kms, the price remains the same as the amount is not increased from Rs 12. For 13.1 – 19.5 kms distance , it is Rs 18 as against the earlier price of Rs 17. For 52.1 to 58.5 kms, the current price is Rs 54 as against the earlier price of Rs 50. For 58.6 – 65.0 kms the fare is Rs 59 as against the earlier fare of Rs 56.

The bus fare for 97.6-104 kms distance, it is Rs 89 as against the earlier price of Rs 91, while for 104.1-110.5 kms it is Rs 93, as against the earlier price of Rs 91.  The minimum fare of city buses is hiked to Rs one for the distance of 2.1 to 4 kms.

The present minimum fare is Rs 8 as against the earlier price of Rs 7.
