Weeks after the rape incident in a private school in Bangalore, which sparked outrage against acts of sexual violence across the State, another minor was allegedly sexually assaulted for several days, before she succeeded in escaping from her tormentors.

Mysore police, on Monday, arrested three persons in connection with the case. The accused has been identified as Raghu, a resident of Bisilavadi village in Chamarajanagar district, Shafiullah and Rahim from Kushalnagar in Kodagu district.

According to the police, the victim had ran away from her house in H D Kote, as her parents scolded her for not performing well at the school. Her parents had registered a missing complaint at the H D Kote police station on June 26.

After running away from her home in H D Kote, the girl reached Mysore and was looking for employment. Raghu, an employee of a telephone company befriended the girl by promising her a job. He then took the girl to his residence in N R Mohalla and sexually assaulted her repeatedly. She was forcefully kept in his house, till July 2, after which the trio had taken the girl to Bangalore.

She was made to work at a cobbler's shop in Bangalore and was threatened against running away. However, the girl recently succeeded in informing her parents over the telephone about her whereabouts. Police personnel from H D Kote, along with the girl’s parents went to Bangalore and succeeded in locating her.

The trio were later arrested, based on the statements of the victim. The accused has been booked under several sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. They were produced before the court, who has sentenced them to judicial custody.
