Spoilt for choice at gifts expo

The growing gifts market is complex and varied and is shifting to a more round-the-year business. And big spending to strengthen business contacts and personal relationships is very much in vogue nowadays.


People buy and give gifts to build and intensify their association with the recipient. In other words, the gift itself becomes the means to strengthen relationships. To give options in terms of gifting, both corporate and personal, Gifts World Expo 2014 was organised by Mex exhibitions pvt. ltd. at Pragati Maidan, recently.

The expo showcased a huge variety of gifts, souvenirs, mementoes and keepsakes for the loved ones as well as for employees. On display at this niche event were acrylic gifts, art materials, handicraft items, calculators, candles, ceramic gifts, chocolates, toys and games, home appliances, glassware, wall clocks, keychains, lamps, leather gifts and various other items.

One of the attractive stalls was the Rural Craft and Creations Pvt Ltd featuring resin-made products. Their copyright gift item was the Kam-dhenu. Available in various sizes, Kamdhenu attracted quite a lot of eyeballs. Talking to Metrolife, Ranveer Singh from Jodhpur, said, “It is our hottest selling product and quite popular in terms of gifting items. We also have a team of 150 artists who uses imported paints to make these products. Other than this, we also have wooden, iron and fibre gifting items.”

Another popular stall in the Expo was the Kumar Industries showcasing wall and table clocks, magnetic
compass, sand timers, antique brass telescope and other handicraft items. “We have been making such items since the Mughal era.

I am the fourth generation which is doing this. We also deliver gift items to politicians and other people who wish to gift these to their foreign delegates. Especially the locket-styled compass is quite popular,” informed Dharmender Kumar, the proprietor.

There was Sudarsham Dhoop Pvt Ltd showcasing scented sticks and Modways Object D’art Pvt Ltd unveiling their latest designed diaries, belts, laptop bags, pendrive, wall clocks, etc. Aline Design Pvt Ltd too had unique designs in terms of candle stands and lamp shades, which make for a perfect
gifting items.
