JOIN USRahul Bhardhvaj BM clinched the boys’ under-15 title while it was double joy for Maisnam Meiraba in the all-India Sub-junior ranking badminton tournament that concluded here on Sunday.
In a closely-fought final, Rahul held his nerve towards the closing stages of both the games to pip Lakshya Sen 21-19, 23-21 in the under-15 final.
Maisnam, however, didn’t have to struggle that much as he polished off Pavan Krishna Thokala 21-18, 21-16 to wear the under-13 singles crown. Maisnam then teamed up with Srikar Madina to beat Rithin B and Pavan Krishna Thokala 13-21, 21-14, 21-14 and bag the corresponding doubles title. Purva Barve warded off Riya Arolkar 21-18, 21-15 for the girls’ under-15 gold while Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka bounced back from an opening game loss to outlast Simran Singh 13-21, 21-16, 21-13 for the under-13 spoils.
