JOIN USShreyal Telang and Shwetha K emerged champions in the men’s and women’s section of the 3rd CS Suresh memorial State-ranking table tennis tournament on Sunday.
In the men’s singles final, Shrayal got the better of Anshuman Roy as he scored a 11-6, 8-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6 win to bag the title.
In the women’s title clash, Shwetha warded off the challenge from an in-form Archana with a 11-3, 11-5, 11-3, 1-11, 11-8 victory to wear the crown. Archana, however, had something to cheer about as she defeated MV Spoorthy 11-4, 8-11, 11-1, 11-9, 11-6 to emerge winner in the Youth girls’ category. Akshay Mahanta won the correcponding title for boys, registering a come-from-behind 6-11, 11-7, 11-8, 20-18, 11-5 win over Rakshit RB.
In the Non-medallist singles final, Nikhil Nanda scripted a 11-3, 11-9, 9-11, 11-8 win over MV Spoorthy to lift the title.
