Frank Anthony Public school prevailed in a thrilling encounter as they beat Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, by seven runs in the under-16 section of the All-India Invitational Cottonian shield tournament on Wednesday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, FAPS scored 129/5 in their stipulated 20 overs. Bhvay Bhatia top scored with 45 for FAPS. In reply, BCS, Shimla could only manage 123/8. FAPS were helped by the good bowling performances from Saqlain H (2-17) and Bhavay B (2-15) in their win.
In the other match on Wednesday, La Martiniere School, Kolkata prevailed over Bethany by four wickets.
Batting first, Bethany managed a modest 103/9 in their 20 overs and La Martinere overhauled that total with nine balls to spare.
Sauman Basu sparkled for the Kolkata side with figures of 3/12.
