Lochan century, Raghav five-wicket haul power Cottons

Lochan Appana’s century and a five-wicket haul from Raghav Bhandari steered Bishop Cotton Boys’ High School to a massive 184-run victory over St Germains in the Under-16 section of the All India Invitational Cottonian Shield cricket tournament on Thursday.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, Bishop Cotton set a daunting target of 216 for St Germains in 20 overs.

 Lochan top-scored with an unbeaten 137. In reply, Germains were bowled out for a paltry 31.

Raghav Bhandari (5/10) was the star performer with the ball for Cottons.
In the other match, Gopalan thrashed a listless Innisfree by massive 205 runs. Riding on an unbeaten century from Karan Pawar (103 n.o.) Gopalan finished with a huge total of 244 for 4 in 20 overs.

Aditya Rajputh (54) played second fiddle to Karan.

In reply, Innisfree were bundled out for 39 in 16.2 overs. Priyaranjan claimed 3 wickets for the winners.  In the under-14 section, St Joseph’s Boys’ High School crushed EISB by 160 runs. Dev Dutt slammed an unbeaten 125 as Josephites piled up 200/1 in 20 overs. In reply, EISB were all out for 40 in 14.5 overs.

BCBS: 215/2 in 20 overs (Lochan Appanna 137 n.o, Tanal Valmik 43) bt St Germains: 31 all out in 7.4 overs (Raghav Bhandari 5-10, Amman Chordia 2-19).

Gopalan: 244/4 in 20 overs (Karan Pawar 103 n.o., Aditya Rajputh 54, Surya Krishna 36) bt Innisfree: 39 all out in 16.2 overs (Priyaranjan 3-20, Bhargava 2-2, Sanketh KS 2-5).
Under-14: St John’s: 112/8 in 20 overs (R Prithivi 46; Gaurav HM 2-17, Akash K 2-21) bt Cambridge: 53 all out in 17 overs (Franklin 2-5, Jaiadithna 2-4).

AMC Cambridge: 61 all out in 18.2 overs (Sharan K 3-4) lost to FAPS: 62/2 in 9.2 overs (Sri Kanth L 31).

St Joseph’s: 200/1 in 20 overs (Dev Dutt BP 125 n.o., Chinmay 39 n.o.) bt EISB: 40 all out in 14.5 overs (Jikhil 3-11, Abhay 2-12).
