JOIN USOpposition leader in the Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa said, the clash between the residents of Belur and Chickmagalur was evidence to the failure of the Police department in the State.
He was speaking to media persons, in Arsikere, on Saturday, after interacting with the people and BJP leaders. He said, the government had failed to maintain law and order in the State.
“Rape cases, assault on police personnel, threat calls to Home minister himself, etc have become common. Besides, the government has failed to address the problems faced by farmers in the wake of drought.
Cattle are suffering due to non-availability of fodder and water. But, the government has not yet thought of opening goshalas,” he said.
A State-level convention of the BJP will be convened in Mysore, shortly, to discuss the problems faced by the people. The course of action for the protests, against the government, will be chalked out at the convention, he added.
