Gaurika, Millie in joint lead

Millie Saroha and Gaurika Bishnoi shot into joint lead in the opening round of the Usha-IGU Southern India Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship here on Tuesday

Millie and Gaurika, ranked 11th and 12th respectively in the Order of Merit List, upstaged much fancied rivals, shooting matching level-par 72s at the Karnataka Golf Association.Title contender Gauri Monga shared the third spot two shots behind with Nishtha Madan while local girl Aditi Ashok opened her campaign with a disappointing 77.

Arjun leads

Delhi teenager Arjun Prasad blasted a brilliant three-under 69 to seize the opening round Category A&B lead in the IGU-Yes Bank Karnataka Junior Boys Golf Championship at the Eagleton Golf Resort on Tuesday.

Shubham Narain and Anirudh Kedlaya shared the second spot at 72 while Kolkata’s Viraj Madappa, who scored a fine come-from-behind win last week at the KGA, was fourth at 73.

Kartik Sharma leads Category B after carding two-over 74, just two shots above Sunhit Bishnoi and Ahaan Nath.
