Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Sanam Singh will be the reserve players of India’s Davis Cup squad for their away tie in South Korea, Busan from April 4-6.

The All India Tennis Association (AITA) selection committee had earlier announced the four-member team for the tie, the winner of which would qualify for the World Group play-off.

The Indian challenge would be led by top singles player Somdev Devvarman. Yuki Bhambri, Saketh Myneni and doubles exponent Rohan Bopanna were the other players picked for the tie.

The selection panel wanted to view the performance of national players on the ITF circuit for a few days before finalizing their choices for the reserves.

Jeevan, at 321st place is the fourth highest-ranked player in India followed by Sanam at 368. The two were part of the reserve squad during India’s tie against Chinese Taipei at Indore during January-February as well. However, Ramanathan Ramkumar who was the part of the squad as a special invitee, has not been picked for this tie.
