The RC-Karnataka State Cricket Academy is all set to be revamped for the forthcoming summer coaching programmes.

The academy till recently was headed by the chairman GR Viswanath while Syed Kirmani was the director. Former state players R Ananth and K Jeshwanth were the assistant directors. They have all been relieved of their jobs.

“We are restructuring the academy,” confirmed KSCA spokesperson Vinay Mrutyunjaya on Tuesday. “Our sponsors Royal Challenge and the KSCA are in discussion to reshape the academy and it will be done in about a month’s time. As of now, we have informed the present office-bearers that they have been relieved of their jobs,” he said.

Vinay, however, maintained that those relieved would be hired as consultants in the next set-up. “The present officials were contracted on a monthly-salary basis which was costing us more. We, in consultation with our sponsors, will suitably compensate them by hiring their services as consultants.”
