Fitness is more important than films: Ashna

She is now enjoying a short break from acting
Ashna Zaveri, who was last seen in Santhanam-starrer Inimey Ippadithaan, is now enjoying a short break from acting. She is busy concentrating on fitness and has been attending acting workshops. Speaking to DC, Ashna says, “In my first film with Santhanam, Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham, my role was that of a traditional Tamil girl and in Inimey... I played a girl who is like me in real life — bold, carefree and modern in outlook. I want to do more commercial scripts.”
Her seriousness about maintaining a healthy physique can be seen from the fact that it is the top priority for her. “You know why, because high intensity workouts help me stay in shape and maintain a good figure. I do something similar to boot camps and one hour of meditation. There’s no greater wealth other than health. Fitness is fun. I do yoga as well, but I don’t believe in dieting. I am a strong believer of strictly scheduling what I eat. I go to the gym and works out rigorously. I believe one should eat everything but in small quantity,” she tells.
So, does it mean that fitness comes first, we ask her. Ashna says, “Of course. I think anybody who has determination to stay fit and healthy finds ways to maintain their physique and exercise regularly despite an overloaded work schedule.”
Ashna, who’s busy with a couple of Telugu films, beats the odds by taking time out for exercise during work. “I lead a very disciplined life. I can miss anything, but not my workouts. Sometimes, if I have to miss my gym, I take my alternative method of brisk walking at the sets during my free time,” she says.
The actor is busy these days as she gears up for other roles on the silver screen. Speaking about the acting workshops that she has been attending these days, she says, “I am learning a lot by attending such classes. I get to meet versatile actors and they share their experiences about the industry,” she signs off.
