Raai Laxmi is slowly turning out to be a lucky mascot when it comes to ghost films
Looks like actress Raai Laxmi is slowly turning out to be a lucky mascot when it comes to ghost films. The glamorous babe’s two earlier horror comedy releases, Kanchana and Aranmanai, were huge hits. Reportedly, all territories for her forthcoming flick Sowcarpettai under Vadivudayan’s direction where she teams up with Shrikanth have been sold out, despite the fact that the filmmakers are yet to release a single trailer or a first look poster.
The Tollywood and Hindi dubbed versions have also been grabbed for a whopping price. Raai Laxmi, who is shooting for an action block in the city for Sowcarpettai says that she has had spooky and paranormal experiences while shooting for the films.
“I do not believe in the supernatural powers. But I strongly believe in God. However, I encountered certain weird experiences while shooting for Aranmanai. I had strange vibes and felt someone was around me. But, I brushed it aside thinking that it was my imagination. But later the editor of the film also confirmed that he felt the same and someone shook the editing table while he was at work.” She says that she also had few odd experiences at the hotel where she stayed while shooting for Sowcarpettai.
“I am on the tenth floor of a star hotel. Once during the night, I saw a huge flash outside the window which lasted for a few seconds. I initially thought it was lightening. But I also heard some eerie sounds. I called the hotel staff and asked if there’s any electrical short circuit outside. They said ‘no’. Within few minutes the flash was there again. I got scared and requested security personnel to be stationed outside my room. But all along I was praying to God, which helped me to reduce my fear.”
She considers the role of Maya in Sowcarpettai as one of the most challenging ones in her career. “Incidentally, Maya was my character name in Aranmanai also. I have different dimensions to my character and it’s going to stand out when it comes to performance,” Laxmi concludes.
