Karan is back with an unusual role

Actor Karan, who was introduced by Kamal Haasan, is back with Uchchathula Shiva after a brief hiatus. With this film, Karan is introducing a new director Jeppy and newbie actress Neha is paired opposite him. Talking about his absence after his last outing Malaiyan, he says, “Normally, actors try out experimental stuff when they go out of circulation. Even when I was busy in early 2000, I took a break and came out with a movie Kokki in Prabhu Solomon’s direction, which was a huge hit. Since Kamal sir introduced me in Nammavar, I have been hugely influenced by his artistic choices. Just like he wants to introduce something new in each of his films, I am also not keen to be typecast. I want to change according to the changing trends.”

He is happy that Uchchathula Shiva with a different genre has turned out well. “My role in the movie is unusual and I enjoyed every bit of its filming,” he says, While Hollywood actor Michael has been roped in for role of the the hard-hitting villain, ace Vidyasagar is composing the music.
