Sagar, who is ecstatic about the response his debut film KL10 Pathu has been receiving, talks about his upcoming ventures

Sagar ettan in KL10 Pathu is all excited about his grand entry into his dream world, Mollywood. Seen in the movie as a comrade with characteristics that are so similar to those in his real life, the actor appears in the film in his screen name, Sagar. Admitting with a humble smile that he is walking on air, Sagar says that his heart jumps with joy when he sees his Facebook filled with messages beginning with ...Sagar Ettan. “I am extremely grateful to director Muhsin Parari for giving me a role with my own name. This has really helped me establish myself in the industry.”
While KL10 Pathu is running successfully in theatres in Kerala, Sagar has yet another happiness to share. “My debut bilingual movie’s Tamil version, Ore Oru Raja Mokka Raja, directed by Santhosh Gopal is now playing in the theatres in Tamil Nadu and has crossed its third week. We were a bit worried about the film as we got the release date alongside the big budget and much awaited film, Bahubali. But, by God’s grace, the movie has been well received by movie buffs in Tamil Nadu,” he explains. Sagar stars opposite Cinema Company fame Sanjeev Murali and comes as an anti-hero in the film.
“I am Kashinathan, an underworld don who has a lot to do in the film,” he says. The Malayalam version of the film, Mallanum Madevanum, is expected to release after Onam. “I am really glad that through KL10 Pathu, my face is recognised and my name too. Hence, when Mallanum Madevanum releases, hopefully, it will be easy for me to grab the audience’s attention,” he says with a smile.
Acting in Ore Oru Raja Mokka Raja was challenging and exciting for Sagar. “It was a fantastic exercise. Making the slang and accent right in Tamil was highly demanding. Since it was a bilingual we shot scenes in Tamil soon after the Malayalam one. Hence, the quick change from the subtle acting that Malayalis enjoy to a little bit more expressive for Tamilians was really thrilling,” he says. Acting along with talented Tamil actors like Talivasal Vijay and Ranjith was interesting.”
The actor, who came into films as an associate director to Lennin Rajendran and Kukku Surendran, is now planning to concentrate more on his acting. “I have a bunch of amazing friends who are very successful in the industry. We are together planning a project and my next will be that one,” he sums up with a smile.
