Shakthi returns as Shakthivel Vasu

Shakthi, the child actor-turned-hero and son of ace director P Vasu has changed his name to Shakthivel Vasu to improvise his fortunes. Despite being a talented actor, Shakthi’s career was not looking up. After a gap he returns with an action film titled Tharkaappu (Self Defense) directed by RP Ravi.

Samuthirakani has been roped in as one of the heroes in a never-before-seen character. Set against the backdrop of Krishnagiri and the Tamil Nadu-Bengaluru border, the movie is based on real life incidents. “It’s about the problems that arise out of an accidental murder. It talks not only about self defense but also how to protect the society as a whole and there’s a huge message in it.” says Ravi.
