KO 2 is not a sequel to KO: Sarath

Director said that there’s a surprise factor all the way when you watch the film

Sarath a former associate of Vishnuvardhan and Chakri Toleti turns independent with KO 2. The film has two national award winners veteran Prakash Raj and Bobby Simha in the lead and Nikki Galrani will be seen as a bold reporter and love interest of Bobby. The director says that KO 2 is not a sequel to the huge blockbuster KO.

With KV Anand’s KO being a super hit, did he apprehend any comparisons? “KO 2 is a political thriller. And KO had more glamour quotient. There’s a surprise factor all the way when you watch the film and I am sure the comparison ‘factor’ will never arise,” Sarath tells DC.

He adds, “It is a commercial entertainer. Though I have not inferred the politician character from any real life political leader, audiences would relate to the social aspects which I have dealt with in the movie.”

Were he intimidated at any point of time with a method actor like Prakash Raj? (Laughs) “In fact I completed his portions ahead of the planned schedule. Perhaps he liked my working style. He also loved the character I had conceived for him. On the sets, I would just tell him what are the scenes, what kind of lenses used and what the opposite character is doing. He would simply do his part effortlessly. Only once he asked me, 'what expression should I give? I was zapped.” As far as Bobby, he is gifted actor. The combo scenes of Prakash and Bobby are bound to enthrall the audiences. It was pleasure directing them, he signs off.
