Director pins hopes on Telugu film to make it in Kollywood

Vi Anand is ready with his Telugu flick Tiger featuring Sundeep Kishan and Rahul Ravindran

Vi Anand, a former assistant to AR Murugadoss, debuted in K’town with the sci-fi flick Appuchi Graamam last year. The director is now ready with his Telugu flick Tiger featuring Sundeep Kishan and Rahul Ravindran as protagonists. Anand had plans to make the movie in Tamil and had impressed Murugadoss with the movie’s story line.

But the project didn’t materialise as the Kaththi director was busy helming the production of Vikram’s Paththu Endrathukulla. He says, “Even now I have plans to remake the movie in Tamil. I will take a call based on the film’s response at the box office. It is a two-hero film, which dwells on friendship and is based on a sensitive issue.

We had planned the Tamil title to be Akbar and thought of casting Arya, Jiiva, or Vijay Sethupathi. We felt that Vishnu Vishal would do justice to the role played by Rahul Ravindran.”
