Sunny Leone is a very dear friend: Navdeep Chhabra

The actor will mark his debut in Devang Dholakia's upcoming 'Kuch Kuch Locha Hai'

“The first film chooses you and then you choose your films,” with this mantra in mind a young Navdeep Chabbra left Delhi for the city of dreams.

Little did he know that his arrival would soon get him the golden ticket to Bollywood.

Navdeep, who will soon be seen in Ram Kapoor-Sunny Leone starrer ‘Kuch Kuch Locha Hai’, is all set to hit the silver screen with his debut film.

Ask him about how it was working with a versatile actor Ram Kapoor and he says, “I am glad that I got this opportunity not every one is as lucky as me. I actually came to know late that I would be playing Ram sir’s son. I got to know the cast when I was already finalised for the film.”

Just like every debutant, Navdeep also felt knots in his stomach before his first shot. “First scene I shot for was in Malaysia. I was pretty nervous for the shoot. We had to shoot a very long and intense scene between a father and his son. The minute I walked into the set, well, that was the first time I met Ram sir. He has been a support throughout. He was really helpful; he made me comfortable around the sets not only that he would also appreciate me if I did my sequence well.”

However the actor admits to recording his rehearsals behind closed doors before going on the sets. “I record all my scenes on my own before actually going in front of the camera.”

Navdeep also revealed that Sunny is more of a friend to him than a co-star. “Sunny is a very dear friend, she doesn’t make you feel like a new comer,” he shared. Just like the film, even their sets were abuzz with fun and frolic says Navdeep. However, being a new entrant in the industry he used to stay until the very end of the shoot. In an industry where experience is worth of gold, Navdeep feels the cast and crew never made him feel aloof. He had a lot of fun on the sets, shooting for the scenes on locations, especially shooting scenes with Ram Kapoor, who he considers a father figure off-screen too. “Ram sir is just like my dad and I think that’s how the film will relate to the masses as it is just like the relationship you would share with your dad at home,” he said.

The Delhi boy also revealed that he would play the protagonist in Devang Dholakia’s upcoming film ‘Zoom’.

The film that features Sunny in a pivotal role is a comedy drama revolving around a father-son relationship.
