Interior designer Madhuri Boddapati’s apartment in Somajiguda is hit in Tollywood

Madhuri Boddapati’s 5,500 sft. flat, located in the bustling streets of Somajiguda, is a “dream house”. Not just for her family, but also the Tollywood industry that has flocked to this house for shoots.

Films such as Dookudu, Oosaravelli, Rebel etc. were shot at the apartment, located on the sixth floor, where Madhuri resides with her husband, Vijay Kumar Boddapati, who is in the construction business, and two children, who are currently pursuing higher studies abroad. It is done up in contemporary style and boasts of a beautiful view of the Hussainsagar.

“Whenever a director needed a house that looked ‘foreign’, they would ring me up. Unlike most houses which have high doses of veneer woodwork, my apartment is very contemporary. Half of the section is made of glass walls, there is natural light and the place is quite airy,” she says.

There are four bedrooms, two living rooms, two kitchens, one office, home theatre and a balcony comprising a waterfall and an elaborate garden. Half of the house has no doors, only glass windows, including a staircase. The property is seven years old and it took Madhuri one-and-a-half years to design it. The base colour of the house is white, one that Madhuri loves.

“My house is like my canvas. Every other month, I change the colour combination and since the base colour is white, it’s easier for me to do it. I change the cushions, curtains or rugs… I have had black-white, pink-blue etc. combinations so far,” she laughs.
