Decoding romantic scenes of television

Romantic scenes between your favourite lead pairs could be a delight to watch on screen, but off-screen it’s a whole different story

Shivin Narang: There was a scene in Veera where Gunjan (Farnaz Shetty) was getting ready and the lights went off. My character brings a candle so she can continue to get dressed. It was an intense scene, but I kept burning my hands due to the melting wax from the candle! It was a difficult scene to shoot, but I’m glad it turned out well.

Karan Patel: During the shoot of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, when Ishita (Divyanka) was getting ready for Shagun’s party, I (Raman) wanted to compliment her and tell her how beautiful she looked while the family members kept interrupting. This confession scene was supposed to be romantic, but we kept cracking up in between the shots.

Vishal Vashishtha: Veera and I have a lot of romantic scenes, but fans love the ones where I get a little aggressive. There was this scene where to woo Veera, I give a rose to every woman in the village and then push Veera against the wall and say, “Shaadi toh main tumse hi karnewala hoon.” Such scenes can get awkward, so we discuss it in advance.
