Mumbai: We hear Deepika Padukone, who was recently shooting for Piku in Kolkata, made time to explore the city that has a rich cinematic history. A source from the film’s unit says, “The only regret Deepika has is visiting the city after the demise of veteran actress Suchitra Sen. Deepika has always been a huge admirer of Suchitra Sen not only because she was a great actress, but also because Deepika feels that Sen was the most beautiful woman of the golden era of cinema.”
For a long time Deepika harboured a wish to meet Sen in Kolkata. Unfortunately, the visit only happened after the veteran actress expired earlier this year. The source adds, “Deepika dropped in at her house and also took time to visit the homes of other legends including Satyajit Ray. She had a lovely time in Kolkata but said that would always regret not having the opportunity to interact with Sen.”
